Crafted entirely from Saperavi, this wine displays an intense ruby-purple color with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, plum, and ripe blueberry layered with subtle hints of violet, spice, and dark chocolate. Medium-to-full bodied, the palate offers concentrated dark fruit supported by lively acidity and polished tannins that create excellent balance. Gentle notes of black pepper and earth add complexity before a long, smooth finish. Rich yet elegant, this classic Georgian red beautifully expresses the distinctive personality of Saperavi.

This versatile red pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, beef kebabs, roasted pork, and slow-braised short ribs. Traditional Georgian dishes such as khinkali dumplings and khachapuri are natural companions, while mushroom risotto, hearty stews, and aged cheeses also complement its bold fruit and balanced structure. Its vibrant acidity allows the wine to shine alongside both grilled meats and savory comfort foods.

Georgia is widely recognized as the birthplace of wine, with an unbroken winemaking tradition dating back more than 8,000 years. Nestled between the Caucasus Mountains and the Alazani River, the Alazani Valley is the country's most celebrated wine-growing region. Fertile soils, warm days, and cool mountain evenings provide ideal conditions for cultivating Saperavi, Georgia's flagship red grape. The region is also renowned for its traditional qvevri winemaking, in which wines are fermented and aged in large clay vessels buried underground, a UNESCO-recognized cultural practice that continues today alongside modern techniques.

Qimerioni honors this remarkable heritage by crafting wines that showcase the authentic character of Georgian vineyards while appealing to today's wine enthusiasts. The winery blends centuries-old tradition with careful modern vinification, allowing Saperavi's naturally deep color, vibrant acidity, and expressive fruit to shine. The result is a wine that reflects both Georgia's rich cultural history and the exceptional terroir of the Alazani Valley, introducing one of the world's oldest wine regions to a new generation of wine lovers.
