Raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry form the aromatic center of this Argentine Malbec, bringing together red- and dark-fruit impressions. On the palate, the fruit is generous and juicy, supported by soft tannins that give the wine an approachable texture. Its personality is inviting rather than imposing, with freshness providing a counterpoint to the ripe berry character. The emphasis remains on fruit and easy enjoyment, offering a welcoming introduction to Malbec without requiring a particularly elaborate occasion. Supple texture and a vivid mix of berries define the wine’s friendly, fruit-focused style.

We’d serve this Malbec with grilled steak, beef empanadas, burgers, or roasted pork. Its juicy fruit and soft tannins should also work well with pasta in a tomato-based sauce or a selection of firm cheeses. For an Argentine-inspired meal, try grilled beef with chimichurri and roasted potatoes. Suggested serving temperature: 60–65°F.

Bodega Renacer was established in 2003 by Patricio Reich, whose wine-industry experience included a leadership role at Chile’s Viña San Pedro. Together with his family, he developed a winery in Perdriel, within Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo district, at the foot of the Andes. Its tower, Tuscan-inspired walls, pergolas, and Italian-style gardens reflect the family roots that helped shape the property. Malbec and Cabernet became central to a winemaking philosophy combining regional character, innovation, and careful attention to quality.

Primer Vino del Año, meaning “first wine of the year,” celebrates the arrival of a new harvest. The 2022 bottling brings together Malbec grapes from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, two important winegrowing areas within Mendoza. According to the producer notes supplied for this wine, the grapes were handpicked and delivered to the winery during the third week of March. The wine is presented as a fresh, welcoming expression of Malbec, with an emphasis on juicy fruit and soft tannins.
