Alea Moschofilero 2023 is highly aromatic and refreshing, opening with lifted notes of rose petal, orange blossom, and citrus peel. Fresh lemon, grapefruit, and green apple follow, accompanied by subtle spice and a clean mineral edge that reflects Mantinia’s high-altitude vineyards. On the palate, the wine is light to medium-bodied with vibrant acidity. Flavors of citrus zest, white peach, and green apple unfold with clarity and precision. A faint peppery note adds intrigue, while mineral undertones provide focus and length. The finish is crisp, refreshing, and persistent, marked by citrus and floral notes that invite another sip. Bright, expressive, and elegant, this Moschofilero highlights the grape’s aromatic charm and natural freshness.

Alea Moschofilero’s aromatic lift and high acidity make it perfect for fresh, herb-driven, and lighter dishes. It pairs beautifully with seafood—grilled calamari, shrimp, oysters, ceviche, and lemon-marinated fish—where citrus and floral notes shine. The wine excels with Mediterranean and Greek cuisine: mezze platters, dolmas, grilled vegetables, spanakopita, and feta-based dishes. Its freshness also suits Asian-inspired fare such as sushi, sashimi, Vietnamese spring rolls, or lightly spiced Thai dishes. For cheese, choose goat cheese, ricotta, or fresh sheep’s-milk cheeses. Serve well-chilled at 45–50°F.

Alea Moschofilero 2023 hails from the Mantinia PDO in Greece’s Peloponnese, a high-altitude plateau known for producing aromatic white wines. Viticulture in Greece dates back over 4,000 years, making it one of the world’s oldest wine cultures.

Moschofilero is Mantinia’s signature grape—pink-skinned, highly aromatic, and naturally high in acidity. The region’s cool climate and elevation preserve freshness, giving Moschofilero its distinctive floral and citrus profile. Greek producers have increasingly focused on clean, modern expressions that highlight indigenous varieties, with Alea representing this renaissance.
