Why not appeal to her sensual self and desire for romance with a fine bottle of Champagne, Cava or Prosecco? Many good sparkling wine choices abound, beginning with <strong>Dampierre\u2019s Grand Cuv<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>e Brut<\/strong> Champagne \u2013 elegant, sophisticated, highly rated Champagne. For an even fuller and more traditional style of Champagne, consider the <strong>Joseph Perrier Cuv<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>e Royale Brut<\/strong>. <strong>Signal Ridge Brut<\/strong>, a home-grown sparkling wine from <strong>Trinchero Family Vineyards <\/strong>that is made in California using the traditional method<strong>, <\/strong>offers plenty to admire, too. It may also be one of the best bargains in sparkling wine. If a lighter and more delicate sparkling wine is in order, <strong>Mont Mar<\/strong><strong>\u00e7<\/strong><strong>al Cava <\/strong>from Spain and any Valdobbiadene Prosecco from <strong>Umberto Bortolotti <\/strong>are sure to provide charm and send the message<em> I am thinking of you<\/em>. And, if she prefers red, Pinot Noir can say \u201cI love you, too.\u201d There is no shortage of fine Pinot Noirs in the marketplace from California and Chile. <strong>Benovia<\/strong>, <strong>Casas del Bosque<\/strong>, <strong>Fore Family Vineyards<\/strong>, and <strong>Pietra Santa<\/strong>, are just a few producers of excellent, fairly priced Pinot Noir that should appeal to her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips for Ladies: <\/strong>Men are visual creatures and delight in adventure and surprises. Power is often more exciting to them than subtlety, so unless he just can\u2019t wait for another glass of the Chardonnay you adore or the delicate, complex Pinot Noir you crave, consider something more appealing to him. A big, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from California or elsewhere that he has never tasted before will go a long way to saying \u201cI love you.\u201d The <strong>Fisher Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon<\/strong>, <strong>Edgbaston GS<\/strong> and <strong>Obsidian Ridge<\/strong> <strong>Estate Red Hills Cabernet Sauvignon<\/strong> are a few of the finest quality Cabernets around for under $50.00 that are sure to appeal to your guy\u2019s senses as well as his taste for adventure. <strong>Ch<\/strong><strong>\u00e2<\/strong><strong>teauneuf-du-Pape<\/strong> and full-bodied <strong>Syrah<\/strong> or <strong>Shiraz<\/strong> offerings will likely strike chords in him as well. <strong>Combes d\u2019Arnevel,<\/strong> <strong>Domaine Grand Tinel<\/strong>, and <strong>Domaine Vieux Lazaret <\/strong>each craft excellent Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Papes, while Australia, California, and South Africa produce a bevy of great Syrah\/Shiraz wines<strong>. Ben Glaetzer, Chapel Hill <\/strong>and<strong> Mr. Riggs <\/strong>from South Australia are accomplished Shiraz producers whose wines are hard to beat, while Chile\u2019s <strong>Casas del Bosque Pequenas Producicones Shiraz <\/strong>and South Africa\u2019s<strong> Robertson\u2019s Number One Constitution Road Shiraz <\/strong>deserve high marks, too<strong>.<\/strong> <strong>Beckmen<\/strong> and <strong>Stolpman<\/strong> from California deserve every bit of the high praise and 90+ point scores they receive for their outstanding Ballard Canyon Syrahs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips for Guys and Girls<\/strong>: Compare notes at the end of the evening, taste each other\u2019s wines, enjoy the communion, and have a happy Valentine\u2019s Day together with whatever wine is in your glass.<\/p>\n<p>Don<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an ideal world the best wine for Valentine\u2019s Day, or any day, would be the wine in your glass.
