{"id":299,"date":"2012-01-31T23:36:18","date_gmt":"2012-01-31T23:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.winemonthclub.com\/blog\/?p=299"},"modified":"2012-01-31T23:36:18","modified_gmt":"2012-01-31T23:36:18","slug":"a-dream-come-true","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winemonthclub.com\/blog\/a-dream-come-true\/","title":{"rendered":"A Dream Come True"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For years I\u2019ve heard colleagues and friends speak of the beauty of South Africa\u2019s Winelands.\u00a0 Comments such as \u201cthe Western Cape is the world\u2019s most beautiful wine country\u201d and \u201cyou can\u2019t imagine how beautiful Stellenbosch and the surrounding Winelands are\u201d, have made me want to see for myself.<\/p>\n<p>I have always dreamed of coming to South Africa.\u00a0 However, if truth be known, I had often wondered if some of the talk about the Cape\u2019s beauty might be a bit of hyperbole.\u00a0 After all, I have been fortunate to have visited most of the world\u2019s wine regions, and I have found each to exude a distinctive charm and give me pause to wonder.\u00a0 Burgundy, Germany\u2019s Rheingau, Napa Valley, Provence, Tuscany, and Chile\u2019s Colchagua Valley whose vineyards soar skyward on the majestic slopes of the towering Cordillera of the Andes, to name just a few special wine regions are all quite special and offer excellent photo ops.\u00a0 However, after visiting South Africa\u2019s Western Cape to sample the wines of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, and Swartland, I must confess there is no more dramatic and stunningly beautiful wine region on earth than South Africa\u2019s Western Cape.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A Votre Sant\u00e9!<\/p>\n<p>Don<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For years I\u2019ve heard colleagues and friends speak of the beauty of South Africa\u2019s Winelands.\u00a0 Comments such as \u201cthe Western Cape is the world\u2019s most beautiful wine country\u201d and \u201cyou can\u2019t imagine how beautiful Stellenbosch and the surrounding Winelands are\u201d, have made me want to see for myself.
